A Spec Campaign That Connects

Crafting Clean Beauty for TruSkin

Lifestyle skincare product photography with purpose, polish, and people-first storytelling.

The Vision

We created this spec skincare campaign as both a tribute to thoughtful beauty and a demonstration of what’s possible when strategy meets storytelling. Inspired by TruSkin’s plant-powered, science-backed skincare for sensitive skin, we envisioned a shoot that could reimagine their visual identity across e-commerce and digital channels.

What stood out was a gap in authenticity: TruSkin leaned heavily on stock imagery. So we asked ourselves—what would it look like if we were their in-house content team? That lens shaped every decision—from model casting to lighting to layout.

The Products

To represent a clean and simple skincare ritual, we selected three hero products:

  • Longevity Moisturizing Cream – A retinol alternative powered by Bakuchiol and Snow Algae

  • Vitamin C Super Serum – Brightening and texture-refining with niacinamide and retinol

  • Soothing Cleansing Milk – A calming cleanser with oat and rice milk

Creative Direction

Our skincare product photography reflected TruSkin’s brand values—clean, modern, honest. Using color cues from their packaging, we created a visual environment that was both elevated and approachable.

We focused on real people, real skin, and real light. Product and user were equally celebrated. Each image was intentionally designed for flexibility—whether for Amazon listings, email banners, or social campaigns.

Team & Execution

  • Models: Alyssa (a nurse) & Jairus (a makeup artist who also modeled), chosen for their relatability and natural presence

  • Creative Direction, Photography, and Strategy: Jason & Alejandra Bryant

  • Retouching: In-house, with support from a trusted editor—preserving skin integrity

  • Makeup: Jairus, bringing both artistry and authenticity

  • Design & Copy: Concept to completion was executed in-house for full visual cohesion

We approached this as if it were a live client campaign—complete with a mood board, brand alignment, and production strategy.

Behind the Scenes

We managed this shoot with intention and clarity. With a tight timeline, we kept communication open and goals aligned. We also captured behind-the-scenes photos and video—documenting the collaboration, care, and detail behind every shot.

This wasn’t just a test—it was a proof of process for real skincare and wellness brands.

Without a formal client, we still delivered:

  • A versatile image library optimized for Amazon, email, and social

  • Polished mock ads for real-world use cases

  • Clean beauty visuals rooted in authenticity, connection, and conversion
